Velika is served by a KTEL intercity bus route linking Larissa with Agiokampos and Velika via Agia. The Municipality of Agia identifies Larissa–Agiokampos–Velika, via Agia, as an intercity bus connection.

The official KTEL route connects Velika with Larissa via Agiokampos, providing public-transport access between the coastal area and the city. Velika is served by a KTEL Larissa intercity route via Agiokampos, connecting it with Larissa. Services are seasonal, so check the operator’s official announcement before travelling.

Velika beach provides an access path, two wheeled beach loungers, an accessible toilet, changing rooms, an amphibious wheelchair and a shower. 112 operates free of charge 24/7, can be called without a SIM or from a locked phone, and accepts SMS/MMS. Operators answer in Greek, English and French.

Velika forms part of the continuous Agiokampos–Sotiritsa–Velika coastal beach zone, which extends for more than 10 kilometres and offers extensive space for seaside recreation. Velika Beach combines sandy and pebbly sections with organised facilities, cafés, beach bars and restaurants.

Excavations at Velika revealed a sixth-century AD building complex with three wings around a courtyard, including an olive-press installation and storage areas. Archaeological research revealed four rectangular towers and two gates, while parts of the fortification survive 1–3 metres high.

A nature excursion in eastern Kissavos featuring dense vegetation, natural pools and cascades, with links to the mountain trail network. A historic fortress on a green hill at the northern end of Velika beach, near the Monastery of Saint John the Theologian, with views toward the Aegean. Its surviving remains represent Hellenistic, early Christian and middle Byzantine phases.
